WarehouseNow arranges same-day cross-docking at vetted facilities in every major U.S. freight market. Request a quote and within 15 minutes we confirm a dock, a price and a time window to transfer your freight from one trailer to another.
What cross-docking covers
Cross-docking moves freight directly from an inbound trailer to an outbound trailer with little or no storage in between. Carriers use it when a driver runs out of hours, a tractor breaks down, or a load needs to be split between two destinations. Brokers use it to recover a load from a failed carrier, consolidate partial shipments or reposition freight closer to a receiver before an appointment.
How it works
Share the move
Tell us where the inbound trailer is, what is on it, where the outbound is headed and when the receiver needs it.
We confirm the dock
Within 15 minutes we match a facility with open doors, the right equipment and hours that fit your timeline, including nights and weekends.
Freight transfers, paperwork follows
The facility unloads, counts, stages and reloads. You receive piece counts, photos and a signed BOL for the outbound leg.
Typical turnaround
Dock confirmed in 15 minutes. Transfers typically complete within 2 to 6 hours of the inbound trailer arriving, depending on pallet count and whether the outbound truck is already on site. Short-term staging of 24 to 72 hours is available when the outbound is delayed.
What drives the cost
- Pallet or piece count and whether freight is palletized, floor-loaded or mixed
- Dwell time if the outbound trailer is not ready the same day
- Special handling: hazmat, high-value, oversized or temperature-controlled freight
- After-hours and weekend dock labor
- Whether the facility also provides drop-trailer space
Every quote covers the full job, including materials, after-hours labor and any storage days, so the number you pass to your customer or your claim is the number you pay.
